Journal ArticleDOI

Gefriertrocknung von bisher nicht lyophilisierbaren Hefen

TL;DR: The anomalous effect of cholesterol on the cholesteric t o smectic-A phase transition is reported and the destabilization of theSmectic layer structure by the short-chain esters finally leads to a second-order transition with respect to the arrangement of the molecular centers of gravity during the cholesterolic tosmectic A transformation.

Biological aspects of pollen development in six species of Brassicaceae

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used anther-smear studies to reveal cytological variations for six species (Eruca sativa, Sisymbirium irio, Diplotaxis harra, Erucaria hispanica, Schimpera Arabica and Brassica tournefortii) belonging to the Brassicaceaefamily.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic Recombination Potential of Gonipterus scutellatus (Gyllenhal) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), a Pest of Eucalyptus Plantations in South Africa

TL;DR: The relatively low chromosome number and low frequency of chiasmata indicate that genetic recombination is controlled at independent assortment and crossing-over, which may limit the potential of G. scutellatus to proliferate under changing conditions and increase its pest status in the future.
Journal Article

Evaluation of cytotoxicity of Terminalia arjuna (Roxb.) Wight & Arn. and Moringa oleifera Lam. in root Meristem cells of Allium cepa L

TL;DR: The frequency of mitotic abnormalities was found to be directly associated with the increase in the concentration of aqueous extracts of barks of tested species, indicating that the inappropriate doses of these herbal medicine may lead to health complications.
