Journal ArticleDOI

Karyotype of the Chinese soft-shelled turtle, Pelodiscus sinensis, from Japan and Taiwan, with chromosomal data for Dogania subplana.

TL;DR: Comparisons of the present results with previously reported trionychine karyotypes indicate that there are some interspecific and intraspecific variations in centromeric positions of several macrochromosome pairs in this subfamily.
Journal ArticleDOI

Floral development of Maidenia rubra Rendle, (Hydrocharitaceae)

TL;DR: The floral morphology of Maidenia rubra is compared with other closely related genera in the Hydrocharitaceae and the unique features are assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clastogenic activity of strontium chloride on bone marrow cells in vivo.

TL;DR: Oral administration of different concentrations of Strontium chloride to laboratory bred mice in vivo induced chromosomal aberrations in bone marrow cell metaphase preparations resulted in clastogenicity and females showed greater susceptibility than the males at all concentrations used.
Journal ArticleDOI

New reports of chromosome number and genome size in eight mangroves from coastal Orissa

TL;DR: Karyotype analysis revealed numerical and structural alterations of somatic chromosomes in different species and ANOVA analysis confirmed the variation in nuclear DNA content in the interspecific as well as intergeneric level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Induction of variability in chimeric Aster cordifolius `White Elegans' through somaclonal variation

TL;DR: A protocol was developed for plant regeneration from leaf explants of Aster cordifolius cultivar `White Elegans', which isimeric for chromosome number and the ligulate flower colour, and pink flowers instead of the expected white ones were obtained in all regenerants.
