Effects of xylazine on renal function and plasma glucose in ponies

C M Trim, +1 more
- 18 Jan 1986 -
TL;DR: The intravenous administration of xylazine (1.1 mg/kg bodyweight) in six ponies resulted in a significant increase in urine output over two hours, with maximum flow occurring between 30 and 60 minutes after injection.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ability of biochemical and haematological tests to predict recovery in periparturient recumbent cows.

TL;DR: Blood samples from 433 periparturient recumbent cows submitted by veterinary practitioners to Ruakura Animal Health Laboratory during 1983 and 1984 were analysed and results related to whether cows recovered, died or were euthanased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics of cisternal cerebrospinal fluid associated with intracranial meningiomas in dogs: 56 cases (1985-2004).

TL;DR: Results were significantly different from those routinely reported in the veterinary literature and Neutrophilic pleocytosis was not typical in CSF samples from dogs with intracranial meningiomas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Secondary hypoparathyroidism attributed to hypomagnesemia in a dog with protein-losing enteropathy

TL;DR: Magnesium concentration should be monitored in all dogs with gastrointestinal tract disease, especially those with protein-losing enteropathy, anorexia, and weakness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of Trypanosoma evansi in brains of the naturally infected hog deer by streptavidine-biotin immunohistochemistry.

TL;DR: Histopathological observation revealed a generalised non-suppurative meningoencephalitis affecting the white and grey matter at all levels of the brain in hog deer that ranged free on a farm in Samut Prakarn province, Thailand.
