TLDR
The method proposed in this paper uses a constraint in stereo vision geometry to jointly optimize the four vectors involved in it, and a candidate testing algorithm and a gradient-based method are tested for the optimization.Abstract:
Efficient, disparity and motion compensated compression techniques are necessary for the transmission of 3DTV signals. Stereo vision geometry imposes certain coherence constraints between vector fields. The method proposed in this paper uses such a constraint in an effort to jointly optimize the four vectors involved in it. Both a candidate testing algorithm and a gradient-based method are tested for the optimization.read more

A theoretical study on an accurate reconstruction of multiview images based on the Viterbi algorithm
B.L. Tseng,Dimitris Anastassiou +1 more
TL;DR: In this proposal, the Viterbi algorithm is used to compute a dense disparity field for every pixel on the left extreme view and consistently for those pixels on the right extreme view, so even objects, present in one extreme view but not the other, can be accurately projected onto an intermediate frame.

Motion-estimation for coding of moving video at 8 kbit/s with Gibbs-modeled vectorfield smoothing
TL;DR: A coding algorithm for the vectorfield combining contour coding of regions of similar displacement with predictive coding of the vectors inside each region proves efficient and allows the estimator to work with decreased blocksize and to supply a distinctly improved displacement-compensation without spending more datarate for displacement-Compensation than the DFDestimator.

Constrained disparity and motion estimators for 3DTV image sequence coding
Ahmed Tamtaoui,Claude Labit +1 more
TL;DR: This paper presents two-dimensional motion estimation methods which take advantage of the intrinsic redundancies inside 3DTV stereoscopic image sequences, subject to the crucial assumption that an initial calibration of the stereoscopic sensors provides us with geometric change of coordinates for two matched features.
