Abstract
The paper first gives a brief overview of software for the computer aided design of control systems. It then discusses in more detail one of the most commonly used environments, namely MATLAB. Brief details of MATLAB are given before more detailed descriptions and applications of several menu driven programs developed in MATLAB are presented. These include simple linear and nonlinear packages for teaching various aspects of basic control engineering.

Robust optimal sun-pointing control of a large solar power satellite

TL;DR: In this article, the robust optimal sun-pointing control strategy for a large geostationary solar power satellite (SPS) is addressed, where the perturbation effects caused by gravity gradient, solar radiation pressure and microwave reaction are investigated.

Research on Adaptive Fuzzy PID Synchronous Control Strategy of Double-Motor

TL;DR: In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy PID which can tune the parameters on-line is introduced to apply in the double-motor synchronous control system, and the simulation results show that fuzzy logic PID control strategy has better performances than traditional controller.

Torsional vibration analysis of lathe spindle system with unbalanced workpiece

TL;DR: In this article, a 10-DOF lumped parameter model was made for the machine tool spindle system with geared transmission, and the results showed that the spindle cannot operate in the desired constant rotating speed as far as the gravitational unbalance torque is engaged, so it may cause bad effect on machining accuracy.

The limit cycle oscillation of divergent instability control based on classical flutter of blade section

TL;DR: Numerical simulation of a novel fuzzy control and back propagation neural network (BPNN) control for divergent instability based on classical flutter of 5-DOF wind turbine blade section driven by pitch adjustment has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

System modeling and instability control of wind turbine blade based on hydraulic pitch system and radial basic function neural network proportional–integral–derivative controller:

TL;DR: Experimental platform based on hardware-in-the-loop simulation is built and verifies the real-time feasibility of the control algorithm proposed and lays the foundation for vibrational behavior research on visualization of large wind turbine blade under divergent stall situation.

Multiple-Input Describing Functions and Nonlinear System Design

TL;DR: The theory of automatic control has been advanced in important ways during recent years, particularly with respect to stability and optimal control, but these theories do not, however, lay to rest all questions of importance to the control engineer.
