Constructal design of heat sources with different heat generation rates for the hot spot mitigation

TLDR
In this paper, the optimum heat generation ratio among discrete heat sources generating different amounts of heat in order to mitigate the hot spot was determined by following the constructal design method, where the average and total heat sources' heat generation rates were kept equal for every examined cases.

Smart microchannel heat exchanger based on the adaptive deformation effect of shape memory alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, a shape memory alloy vortex generator (SMA-VG) was proposed to address the challenges associated with complex working conditions and random hotspots of electronic components, which can automatically adjust to change the flow characteristics of the microchannel, such that the cooling capacity and heat dissipation demand can be matched intelligently without external control.

Forced Convection Cooling Across Rectangular Blocks

TL;DR: In this paper, a control-volume-based finite difference procedure with appropriate averaging for the diffusion coefficients is used to solve the coupling between the solid and fluid regions, and the analysis is extended to study the optimum spacing between heat sources for a fixed heat input and a desired maximum temperature at the heat source.

Optimal distribution of discrete heat sources on a wall with natural convection

TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply the constructal method to the discovery of the optimal distribution of discrete heat sources cooled by laminar natural convection, where the global objective is to maximize the global conductance between the wall and the fluid or to minimize the hot-spot temperatures when the total heat generation rate and global system dimensions are specified.

Optimal distribution of discrete heat sources on a plate with laminar forced convection

TL;DR: In this article, constructal theory is applied to the fundamental problem of how to arrange discrete heat sources on a wall cooled by forced convection, where the global objective is to maximize the conductance between the discrete heated wall and the fluid.
