The GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness) Research Program is a worldwide organization of some 170 scholars from about 60 nations who investigate the cross-cultural forces relevant to effective leadership and organizational practices. Approximately 17,300 middle managers from 950 organizations in 61 countries participated in the first two phases of the GLOBE program.

Ethical and Unethical Leadership: A Cross-Cultural and Cross-Sectoral Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify cross-cultural and cross-sectoral commonalities and differences in international executives' perceptions of ethical and unethical leadership, and find that executives from Western and Eastern cultures working in the private or the public/social sector reveal collectively held attitudes of ethical leadership, including leader honesty, integrity, concern for responsibility/sustainability, and people orientation.
