In this article, a SILC-BLD was used to improve the bit error rate of degraded optical signals by converting the signal wavelength at the same time without wavelength filters or isolators.
Abstract
Digital optical signal regeneration with a SILC-BLD markedly improves the bit error rate of degraded optical signals. The extinction improved from 3 dB to 17 dB and intensity fluctuation was suppressed from 3 dB to 0 dB. This diode can not only regenerate the signal but also converts the signal wavelength at the same time without wavelength filters or isolators. >
