Routes to chaos in the post-stall dynamics of higher-dimensional aircraft model

TL;DR: Using tools from nonlinear dynamics based on bifurcation analysis, phase portrait, Poincaré map and amplitude spectrum analysis techniques, existence of quasi-periodic, period-doubling and intermittency routes to chaos are established in the post-stall dynamics of an F-18 High-Alpha Research Vehicle model with external steady wind as the driving agent.

Improved pilot training via bifurcation analysis and robust control for aircraft loss of control problems

TL;DR: A simulator for improved pilot training based on bifurcation and continuation techniques is presented and a robust control-based loss of control handling module is also presented for developing non-intuitive strategies for Loss of control prevention and recovery.

Nonlinearity Index Aircraft Spin Motion Analysis With Dynamic Inversion Spin Recovery Controller Design

Jeffry Walker
TL;DR: Newman et al. as mentioned in this paper extended the previous work of Tapolcai utilizing nonlinearity index theory to quantitatively analyze nonlinearities in an aircraft model and to augment these undesirable nonlinear characteristics with feedback control.

Nonlinear dynamics and Chaos

TL;DR: The logistic map, a canonical one-dimensional system exhibiting surprisingly complex and aperiodic behavior, is modeled as a function of its chaotic parameter, and the progression through period-doubling bifurcations to the onset of chaos is considered.
