TLDR
In this article, the process of dissolution of organic-free high-silica pentasils (silicalite-1 and ZSM-5 with different Al-content) was investigated by different methods such as X-ray diffractometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning-electron microscopy (SEM) and measuring the silicon and aluminum concentration in the liquid phase.

Hierarchical zeolites: enhanced utilisation of microporous crystals in catalysis by advances in materials design.

TL;DR: This critical review examines recent advances in the rapidly evolving area of zeolite with improved accessibility and molecular transport and particularly dwells on the exciting field of hierarchical zeolites, which couple in a single material the catalytic power of micropores and the facilitated access and improved transport consequence of a complementary mesopore network.

Synthesis strategies in the search for hierarchical zeolites

TL;DR: The overall one is the development of methods that are versatile in terms of zeolite structures and compositions, capable of tuning the secondary porosity properties, and being scaled up in a cost-effective way.

Design of hierarchical zeolite catalysts by desilication

TL;DR: Hierarchical (or mesoporous) zeolites have received an everincreasing attention due to their improved performance in catalysed reactions with respect to conventional (purely microporous) Zeolites as discussed by the authors.

Desilication: on the controlled generation of mesoporosity in MFI zeolites

TL;DR: In this paper, an optimal molar Si/Al ratio in the range of 25-50 has been identified for mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolites with preserved structural integrity, and a successive combination of post-treatments, in which desilication is followed by dealumination, enables a decoupled modification of the mesopore and acidic properties.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present substantial evidence that the Al distribution in ZSM-5 crystals is non-uniform, showing that Al is invariably concentrated in the rim portion of the crystals.
