Ian Morrison,Joseph M. Jacobson +1 more
TLDR
A display comprises spaced first and second electrodes, and a plurality of electrochromic nanoparticles disposed between the electrodes, each of the nanoparticles having an electron-rich state and an electron depleted state, the two states differing in at least one optical characteristic.Abstract:
A display comprises spaced first and second electrodes, and a plurality of electrochromic nanoparticles disposed between the electrodes, each of the nanoparticles having an electron-rich state and an electron-depleted state, the two states differing in at least one optical characteristic. Upon injection of charge from one of the electrodes, the nanoparticles switch between their electron-rich and electron-depleted states, thus changing an optical characteristic of the display.read more

Methods for driving bistable electro-optic displays, and apparatus for use therein
Robert W. Zehner,Holly G. Gates,Karl R. Amundson,Joanna F. Au,Ara N. Knaian,Jonathan L. Zalesky,Alexi C. Arango +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a bistable electro-optic display has a plurality of pixels, each of which is capable of displaying at least three gray levels, and the display is driven by storing a look-up table containing data representing the impulses necessary to convert an initial gray level to a final gray level.

Methods for driving electro-optic displays
TL;DR: In this paper, an electro-optic display, having at least one pixel capable of achieving any one of at least four different gray levels including two extreme optical states, is driven by displaying a first image on the display, and rewriting the display to display a second image thereon.

Electronic Energy Transfer in CdSe Quantum Dot Solids
TL;DR: Electronic energy transfer between close packed quantum dots using cw and time resolved photoluminescence is demonstrated and is consistent with long-range resonance transfer of electronic excitations from the more electronically confined states of the small dots to the higher excitedStates of the large dots.
