Journal ArticleDOI

Genotoxic effects of the herbicide Roundup Transorb and its active ingredient glyphosate on the fish Prochilodus lineatus.

TL;DR: Results revealed that both glyphosate itself and RT were genotoxic to gill cells and erythrocytes of P. lineatus, suggesting that their use should be carefully monitored considering their potential impact on tropical aquatic biota.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Glyphosate and Polyoxyethylenamine on Growth and Energetic Reserves in the Freshwater Crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus (Decapoda, Parastacidae)

TL;DR: Sublethal effects of a 50-day exposure to glyphosate acid and polyoxyethylenamine (POEA) both alone and in a 3:1 mixture on the growth and energetic reserves in muscle, hepatopancreas and hemolymph of growing juvenile crayfish are examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of active arsenic species produced by metabolic reduction of dimethylarsinic acid in genotoxicity and tumorigenesis.

TL;DR: Examination of trivalent dimethylated arsenic and its further metabolites for their chemical properties and biological behavior such as genotoxicity and tumorigenicity suggested that the formation of cis-thymine glycol in DNA was induced via the production of dim methylated arsenic peroxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in Blood Lead Levels Associated with Use of Chloramines in Water Treatment Systems

TL;DR: The analysis indicates that the change to chloramine disinfection in water treatment systems may lead to an increase in blood lead levels, the impact of which is progressively mitigated in newer housing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring of pyrethroid metabolites in human urine using solid-phase extraction followed by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

TL;DR: A method was developed for the determination of cis -, and trans -3-(2, 2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (Cl 2 CA), cis - 3-(2.2-dibromovinyl), 2, 2.4-methylbutyric acid (2-ClBA), and 3-phenoxybenzoic acid (3-PBA) metabolites as mentioned in this paper.
