TL;DR: Evidence that it promotes C sequestration is not compelling, because in essentially all cases where conservation tillage was found to sequester C, soils were only sampled to a depth of 30 cm or less, even though crop roots often extend much deeper.

Fluorescence Inner-Filtering Correction for Determining the Humification Index of Dissolved Organic Matter
TL;DR: This study suggests that for quantitative results which can be used to compare humification of natural organic matter across different studies, correction of the fluorescence emission spectra for innerfiltration effects is needed.
