Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of high-sugar ryegrass/red clover silage diets on intake, production, digestibility, and N utilization in dairy cows, as measured in vivo and predicted by the NorFor model.

TL;DR: Adding WSC to dairy cow diets at levels up to 3 kg of WSC per day does not dramatically affect cow performance, and the NorFor feed evaluation model overestimated digestibility of neutral detergent fiber and N, but underestimated N excretion in feces.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of oil palm meal on nutrient utilization and milk production in lactating dairy cows fed with urea-treated rice straw

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of different inclusion levels of oil palm meal (OPM) at 0, 10, 20, 30% and 40% in the concentrate on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation and milk production in lactating dairy cows were randomly assigned according to a 5 × 5 Latin square design.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of supplementing palmitic acid and altering the dietary ratio of n-6:n-3 fatty acids in low-fibre diets on production responses of dairy cows.

TL;DR: Feeding C16 : 0 combined with either n- 6 or n-3 FA enhanced feed efficiency, alleviated the negative impacts on body energy reserves, but lowering the dietary n-6:n-3 ratio improved the FA profile of milk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Níveis de triticale em substituição ao milho no desempenho zootécnico e digestibilidade aparente de novilhas Nelore confinadas

TL;DR: Triticale may be used by feedlot heifers as a viable alternative source to replace corn and there were no effects of corn replacement levels on the final live weight, average daily gain, intakes of dry matter, crude protein, neutral detergent Fiber, acid detergent fiber, hemicellulose, feed: gain and carcass yield.
