Numerical study of particle transport and deposition in porous media

Jianhua Fan
TL;DR: In this article, a coupled lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and discrete element method (DEM) is used to simulate the fluid-particle flow and the quality factor is also calculated for determining the filtration performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

An NMR-assisted laboratory investigation of coal fines migration in fracture proppants during single-phase water production

Zhenghuai Guo, +2 more
- 01 Jul 2023 -
TL;DR: In this paper , coal fines are injected in a proppant pack and the pore structure change is caused by reducing pore size by coal fines occupying pore space and developing inter-particulate pore spaces of fines gathering at the damaged pores.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study to control the filler distribution in fibrous media during the particle-filled resin transfer molding process

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical model is developed for analyzing the filtration of suspension through fibrous media, during the particle-filled resin transfer molding process, and the results reveal that the particle distribution and retention depend strongly on the initial concentration and injection pressure, but very weakly on the injection velocity.
