Transport of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Porous Media Mediated by Low‐Concentration Surfactants: The Critical Role of Surfactant to Change Cell Surface Hydrophobicity

TL;DR: Results showed that CSH plays a critical role in cell transport in porous media and changing CSH is a common mechanism for low‐concentration surfactants to mediate the transport, which implies the potential of using low-concentrations surfactant to regulate bacterial transport for bioaugmentation.
DissertationDOI

The behaviour of electrically active and prefilter fibrous filters under solid aerosol load

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on an experimental program studying the aerosol particle penetration through, and pressure drop across a mixture of electrically active material, and a number of prefilter materials of differing packing density, as they are loaded with aerosol particles.
Book ChapterDOI

Modeling Bacterial Transport and Accumulation Processes in Saturated Porous Media: A Review

TL;DR: Two types of bioremediation approaches are being considered for field-scale cleanup: intrinsic bioremediatedation and active biore mediation, which relies on the inherent degradative capacity of native subsurface microbes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exact solutions to the problem of deep-bed filtration with retardation of a jump in concentration within the framework of the nonlinear two-velocity model

TL;DR: In this paper, exact solutions with plane and cylindrical waves are obtained for one-dimensional problems of injection of a suspension into a porous reservoir when lagging of the suspended particles behind the carrier fluid is taken into account in the case of large change in the porosity.
