Fluid structure interaction analysis of the operating Savonius wind turbine

TLDR
In this article, the authors presented full two-way Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) approach to model operation of the Savonius-type VAWT, which couples the set of Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes Equations (URANS) with the unsteady linear elasticity equations and dynamic mesh approach to comprehensively describe the deformations of the turbine rotor.

Numerical study of the 3D Savonius turbine under stationary conditions

TL;DR: In this article , a one-way fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulation with the Ansys Workbench environment 2019 R3 is used to predict the flow structures and the force response of various turbine diameters (D) from size 1D until 5D at different wind speeds (8 m/s < v < 18m/s) and bucket angles (0°-180°).

Hydro-elastic computational analysis of a marine propeller using two-way fluid structure interaction

TL;DR: This study reveals that metallic (NAB) propeller can be replaced by a composite propeller and the acoustic response from two-way FSI analysis will be more realistic due to the consideration of hydro-elastic effect of propeller.

Modified wind energy collection devices for harvesting convective wind energy from cars and trucks moving in the highway

TL;DR: In this article , a comparison of different wind energy collection devices (WECDs) is studied in the highway in order to determine which WECD can collect more wind energy, and the results show that the order of the maximum Cp generated by the WECDs is CT > RT > BT.
