TL;DR: The transient, as opposed to steady state, thermostat effect was observed for the layered nanocantilevers, with a sufficiently sensitive response to demonstrate suitability for in situ use in thin-film temperature measurements requiring resolutions of <10 K and 10 μm on time scales here mechanically limited to microseconds and potentially at shorter times.

Comparison of decentralized velocity feedback control for thin homogeneous and stiff sandwich panels using electrodynamic proof-mass actuators
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the effect of decentralised velocity feedback control on thin homogeneous and sandwich panels and showed that for a stiff sandwich panel higher stable feedback gains can be implemented than on a thin homogenous panel of comparable weight per unit area.
