Free Magnetic Induction in Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance

TLDR
In this paper, the free precession of an ensemble of nuclear quadrupole moments in an axial electric field gradient is studied by the pulsed nuclear induction method, which is analogous to the macroscopic nuclear induction equations of Bloch.
Abstract
The free precession of an ensemble of nuclear quadrupole moments in an axial electric field gradient is studied by the pulsed nuclear induction method. A quantum-mechanical analysis describes the free precession and spin echo signals which result from the application of single and double pulses of radio-frequency field at the condition of zero-field quadrupole resonance. Beat modulation effects exhibited by free precession signals in a small constant external magnetic field are predicted by analysis. An alternative semiclassical description of quadrupole precession is given, which is analogous to the macroscopic nuclear induction equations of Bloch. Theory is verified by observation of free precession signals of chlorine in NaCl${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$.

Aspects of structural order in 209Bi-containing particles for potential MRI contrast agents based on quadrupole enhanced relaxation

TL;DR: Quadrupole relaxation enhancement (QRE) has been suggested as the key mechanism for a novel class of field-selective, potentially responsive magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents as mentioned in this paper.

Spatially resolved NQR.

TL;DR: Pure nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) was combined with a rotating-frame imaging technique (rho NQRI) to provide two-dimensional NQR images suitable for the detection of the spatial distribution of physical parameters producing NZR line shifts.

Quantum and classical correlations in three-qubit spin

TL;DR: It is shown that, unlike the predictions of the Ising, Heisenberg, and dipole–dipole coupling spin models, the quantum mutual information, classical correlations, entanglement, and quantum discords between the fictitious spins do not vanish with an increase in magnetic field.

NQR spin-echo methods at very low temperatures

TL;DR: In this article, the use of short nonstandard rf pulses in NQR spin-echo experiments on powdered samples was described, and theoretical density matrix calculations have been carried out and the resulting expression for the echo amplitude confirmed by experiment.
