Gradients of microstructure and diffusion properties in cement paste caused by drying
TLDR
In this article, the microstructure of hydrated cement paste varies with distance from an exposed, drying face, and possible causes of the microstructural gradients are discussed in relation to the effects of moisture condition upon cement hydration and pore structure changes and carbon dioxide upon cement hydrates and porosity.About:

Filler cement: The effect of the secondary component on the hydration of Portland cement: Part I. A fine non-hydraulic filler
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that enhanced hydration was achieved by blending a fine non-hydraulic filler into an ordinary Portland cement, which was considered to be a particle size effect and associated with the presence of fine particles of filler which provided the additional nucleation sites.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the porosity coefficient of carbonated concrete by applying a capillary pore structure formation model in carbonated cement mortar and assuming that aggregates do not affect carbonation process in early-aged concrete.

Some results of the effect of carbonation on the porosity and pore size distribution of cement paste
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of carbonation on the microstructure of concrete has been investigated and it is shown that the porosity of carbonated cement paste is essentially smaller than that of non-carbonated ones, and carbonation affects more the greater pores than the smaller ones.

Effect of drying history upon the exchange of pore water with methanol and upon subsequent methanol sorption behaviour in hydrated alite paste
TL;DR: The counter diffusion process in which the pore water in saturated alite paste was exchanged for methanol was studied experimentally as discussed by the authors, and the rate of exchange was dependent upon drying history.

Effect of Age on Diffusion in Hydrated Alite Cement
TL;DR: In this paper, a microscopic examination of resin replicas of the larger alite pores was performed to monitor the reduction in continuity of these larger pores by microscopic examination, and the results showed that diffusion rates diminished very rapidly with only small amounts of additional hydration.
