TLDR
In this paper, the mean grain size versus annealing time and temperature for four austenitic stainless steels is estimated for each of the four alloys, and a kinetic analysis of Stanley and Perrotta's data whereby the time dependence and activation energy for grain growth from the shrinkage rate temperature dependence is described.

Coarsening in Sintering: Grain Shape Distribution, Grain Size Distribution, and Grain Growth Kinetics in Solid-Pore Systems

TL;DR: Sintering occurs when packed particles are heated to a temperature where there is sufficient atomic motion to grow bonds between the particles as mentioned in this paper, and the conditions that induce sintering depend on the material, its melting temperature, particle size, and a host of processing variables.

Thermally-induced grain growth of calcite marbles on Naxos Island, Greece

TL;DR: The island of Naxos is composed of an elliptically shaped structural and thermal dome of Miocene age, and the microstructures and grain-size distributions in the marbles are consistent with normal grain-growth as mentioned in this paper.

Heterogeneous structure-induced strength-ductility synergy by partial recrystallization during friction stir welding of a high-entropy alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, a fine-grained partially recrystallized microstructure in the stir zone gave rise to a high tensile yield strength of 920 MPa with an elongation of 37%.

Grain growth behaviour of type 316L stainless steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of boron content on the grain growth behavior of type 316L stainless steel was investigated by annealing for 0.25-100 h at 950°C and by isochronal annesaling for 1 h between 900 and 1300 °C.
