Habitat restrictions in early benthic life: experiments on habitat selection and in situ predation with the American lobster
TLDR
Field predation experiments and video observation show that tethered early benthic phase lobsters were attacked by demersal fishes and crabs significantly more often when unsheltered by cobble, and that this vulnerability declines dramatically with increasing body size.About:

Stress and Decision Making under the Risk of Predation: Recent Developments from Behavioral, Reproductive, and Ecological Perspectives
TL;DR: This chapter reviews the present empirical and theoretical work on antipredatory decision making and suggests that attention is needed for further work on the effects that predator and prey have on the other's behavioral decisions.

Disturbance of the Seabed by Mobile Fishing Gear: A Comparison to Forest Clearcutting
Les Watling,Elliott A. Norse +1 more
TL;DR: The effects of mobile fishing gear on biodiversity are most severe where natural disturbance is least prevalent, particularly on the outer continental shelf and slope, where storm-wave damage is negligible and biological processes, including growth, tend to be slow as discussed by the authors.

Juvenile mortality in benthic marine invertebrates
Louis A. Gosselin,Pei-Yuan Qian +1 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that extreme vulnerability at the onset of luvenile life is a shared t r a ~ t hat is largely responsible for the surv~vorship trend Natural variation within this trend would be largely due to variation in intensity of mortality factors.

Role of early post-settlement mortality in recruitment of benthic marine invertebrates
TL;DR: Much of the present knowledge of the early postsettlement period has come from studies of barnacles and ascidians and more information is needed for other groups of benthic marine invertebrates, particularly mobile species.

On the advantages and disadvantages of larval stages in benthic marine invertebrate life cycles
TL;DR: The prominence of larval development in modern life cycles may reflect difficulties in losing larvae from invertebrate life cycles more than selection for their retention.

TL;DR: The body size is one of the most important attributes of an organism from an ecological and evolutionary point of view as mentioned in this paper, and it has a predominant influence on an animal's energetic requirements, its potential for resource exploitation, and its susceptibility to natural enemies.

Fishes of the Gulf of Maine
TL;DR: The first part of the general report, dealing with the fishes was published in 1925, as Bulletin of the United States Bureau of FisherIes, and subsequent parts describing the plankton of the offshore waters of the Gulf and the physical Characteristics of its waters were published in 1926-27, as Part 2. as discussed by the authors.
