TLDR
In this article, a d.c.-ripple reinjection principle was proposed to reduce the harmonic content produced by static convertors, and it was shown by theory and experiment that, using this principle, a six-pulse convertor configuration can be made to operate as a twelvepulse converter from the point of view of a.c. system harmonics.
Abstract
A d.c.- ripple reinjection principle is described which reduces the harmonic content produced by static convertors. It is shown by theory and experiment that, using this principle, a six-pulse convertor configuration can be made to operate as a twelve-pulse convertor from the point of view of a.c. and d.c. system harmonics. The reinjection circuit includes a feedback convertor in series with the d.c. output. This convertor provides automatic adjustment of the reinjected current as the load changes and improves the efficiency of the overall system.

System for reducing harmonics by harmonic current injection

TL;DR: In this article, a circuit is provided for generating a current that is a harmonic of the frequency of the utility system and which is of a selected amplitude and phase to reduce the total harmonic distortion of a system that converts alternating current to direct current, or vice versa.

Medium-Voltage 12-Pulse Converter: Output Voltage Harmonic Compensation Using a Series APF

TL;DR: Compensation of the dc-side voltage harmonics of a medium-voltage 12-pulse ac/dc converter is achieved using a series active power filter (APF) to reduce inverter losses.

A 12-Pulse AC–DC Rectifier With High-Quality Input/Output Waveforms

TL;DR: An ac-dc rectifier, which draws sinusoidal current waveforms from the utility, can supply either a ripple-free current or voltage to the dc load by using a dc filter as discussed by the authors.

The calculation of rectifier and inverter performance characteristics

TL;DR: In this paper, the principal performance characteristics of a mercury-arc rectifier or inverter are investigated. But the methods given are suitable for practical use, and can be applied without expert knowledge of rectifier circuit theory.

The Double 3-Phase Rectifier with Inter-Phase Reactor excited from a Frequency Tripler

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that by using a frequency tripler as a source of auxiliary excitation, a tenfold reduction is obtained both in the no-load voltage rise and in the critical load current at which double 3-phase operation commences.
