TL;DR: In this paper, an inkjet printing method was used to prepare catalyst films for methanol combustion, which could be used as micro heat source to provide energy for micro-nano-scale devices.

Pressure drop prediction of square-cell honeycomb monolith structure

TL;DR: In this article, an adapted sub-grid scale modeling is used to predict the pressure loss of square cell and shape of honeycomb monolith structure in catalytic converter in vehicle exhaust system.

Thermal Explosion of Oxyhydrogen Gas Initiated by the Wall of a Quartz Reactor

TL;DR: In this paper, a criterion for gas ignition initiated by a heterogeneous reaction, in contrast to criteria for a homogeneous thermal explosion in reactors with an inert wall, was developed to calculate gas ignition in nuclear reactors with a catalytically active wall.

Formaldehyde Oxidation Over Platinum: On the Kinetics Relevant to Exhaust Conditions of Lean-Burn Natural Gas Engines

TL;DR: In this paper, a thermodynamically consistent detailed surface reaction mechanism consisting of 30 elementary-like-steps among six gas phase and ten surface species was proposed for formaldehyde oxidation over Pt-based catalytic converters.

Steps in CH4 oxidation on Pt and Rh surfaces: High‐temperature reactor simulations

TL;DR: In this article, a 19-elementary-step model of adsorption, desorption and surface reaction steps with reaction parameters from the literature or from fits to previous experiments was used to simulate the direct oxidation of CH4 to H2 and CO in O2 and in air at high temperatures over alumina foam monoliths.

Modeling the partial oxidation of methane in a short‐contact‐time reactor

TL;DR: In this paper, a tube wall catalytic reactor was simulated as a model for a single pore of the monolithic catalyst using a 2-D flow field description coupled with detailed reaction mechanisms for surface and gas-phase chemistry.

A model of elementary chemistry and fluid mechanics in the combustion of hydrogen on platinum surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the catalyzed combustion of lean hydrogen-oxygen mixtures in a stagnation flow over a platinum surface and in a flat-plate boundary layer is analyzed. But the results of the analysis are limited.

Experimental and numerical investigation of the catalytic ignition of mixtures of hydrogen and oxygen on platinum

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied catalytic ignition of mixtures of H2 + O2 by measuring and simulating the temporal evolution from the kinetically controlled regime (i.e., prior to ignition) to the state controlled by mass transport after ignition.
