New photoresponsive (meth)acrylate (co)polymers containing azobenzene pendant sidegroups with carboxylic and dimethylamino substituents—II. Synthesis and characterization of polymers and copolymers

TL;DR: The title (co)polymers, used for their investigations on their photoresponsive behavior were obtained by free radical polymerization as discussed by the authors, where the monomer was either an acrylate or a methacrylate to which an azobenzene group, modified with a para-placed dimethylamino or a carboxylic pendant group, was attached with or without an aliphatic spacer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sequence, stoichiometry, and dimensionality control in porphyrin/bis-calix[4]arene self-assemblies in aqueous solution.

TL;DR: The attainment of the pivotal CuTPPS/BC(4) 5:4 species with a cruciform structure, as the key fork-point intermediate for the subsequent formation of the higher 2D and 3D assemblies, has been demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Symmetry of Helical Polymers. Electronic States of Double‐Stranded Polynucleotides

TL;DR: In this article, the symmetry properties of a double-stranded polynucleotide, containing only one type of monomer unit, have been investigated by the application of the theory of space groups, indicating that there is sufficiently high symmetry to make formal treatment by group theory profitable for applications to the molecular dynamics of related helical polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potent Immunomodulating Activities of Polyvinyladenine and (Vinyladenine-Alt-Maleic Acid) Copolymer:

TL;DR: Polyvinyladenine [poly(VAd)] and poly(vinylenine-alt, co-maleic anhydride] were prepared by free radical polymerization of vinyladenine and copolymerization of LP with maleic anoxide as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Layered Compounds. V. Synthesis and Properties of [m.n]Paracyclophadiynes

TL;DR: In this article, a series of bisethynyl compounds, IX and XII, were prepared by a modified ethynylation using N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone in good yields.
