Journal ArticleDOI

Single-Electron and Single-Photon Sensitivity with a Silicon Skipper CCD

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed ultralow-noise electronics in combination with repetitive, non-destructive readout of a charge-coupled device (CCD) to achieve an unprecedented noise level of 0068 rms/pixel, which is the first time that discrete subelectron readout noise has been achieved reproducible over millions of pixels on a stable, large area detector.
Journal ArticleDOI

Edge effects in thin film delamination

TL;DR: In this article, the energy release rate and mode mix for an interface delamination crack emerging from, or converging upon, an edge was analyzed for two two-dimensional configurations: (a) a film whose edge lies in the interior of the substrate and (b) a films whose edge is aligned with the edge of a substrate (i.e. the film/substrate geometry is a quarterplane).
Journal ArticleDOI

Coupled optoelectronic simulation of organic bulk-heterojunction solar cells: Parameter extraction and sensitivity analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive optoelectronic device model for organic bulk-heterojunction solar cells is presented, where the optical incoupling into a multilayer stack is calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasma etching and modification of organic polymers

TL;DR: In this paper, the role played by atomic and molecular oxygen, atomic fluorine, CFx radicals, ions, high energy metastable species, and photons in polytetrafluoroethylene and polyethylene is discussed.
Book

Nanogenerators for Self-powered Devices and Systems

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors presented the self-powered nanotechnology, aiming at powering nanodevices/nanosystems using the energy harvested from the environment in which the systems are suppose to operate.
