In vitro plant regeneration in Melia azedarach L.

TLDR
Nodal explants of 3- 6-week-old seedlings cultured on Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 6-benzyladenine (BA) produced multiple shoots which resulted in plantlets which were successfully established in soil.
Abstract
Nodal explants of 3- 6-week-old seedlings cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 6-benzyladenine (BA) (17.75 μM) produced multiple shoots. Shoots were isolated and induced to root on 1/2-strength MS medium supplemented with indole-3-butyric acid (4.92 μM). In-vitro-rooted shoots resumed growth after a short period of acclimatization and resulted in plantlets which were successfully established in soil. In vitro flowering was observed in some of the nodal explants in the above medium, and also in cotyledonary leaves and internodal explants on MS medium supplemented with a combination of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) (0.06 μM)+BA (4.44 μM) and IAA (0.06 μM)+kinetin (4.65 μM).

Rapid in vitro multiplication of Melia azedarach L. (a multipurpose woody tree)

TL;DR: An efficient regeneration protocol for rapid multiplication of Melia azedarach, an economically as well as medicinally important timber-yielding tree, was developed and nearly 90% of the culture exhibited axillary bud sprouting and multiple shoot formation from nodal segments derived from 20-year-old candidate plus tree.

TL;DR: In both insects food consumption, weight gain and conversion of ingested food (ECI) in body matter decreased with increasing extract amounts, and the conversion of digested food (ECD) was lowered gradually by using higher concentrations ofMelia extract.
