A general solution to the retrieval problem can be transformed into the q-attribute string matching problem if q features are considered in a query and includes an index structure and the matching methodologies, which can be applied on different values of q.Abstract:
Multimedia data can be represented as a multiple-attribute string of feature values corresponding to multiple features of the data. Therefore, the retrieval problem can be transformed into the q-attribute string matching problem if q features are considered in a query. A general solution is proposed in this paper. It includes an index structure and the matching methodologies, which can be applied on different values of q. The experiment results show the efficiency of the proposed approach.read more

Similarity search for multidimensional data sequences = 다차원 데이터 시퀀스에 대한 유사성 검색
Seok-Lyong Lee,이석룡 +1 more
TL;DR: To prune irrelevant sequences in a database, correct and efficient similarity functions are introduced and 73-94 percent of irrelevant sequences are pruned using the proposed method, resulting in 16-28 times faster response time compared with that of the sequential search.

A Space-Economical Suffix Tree Construction Algorithm
TL;DR: A new algorithm is presented for constructing auxiliary digital search trees to aid in exact-match substring searching that has the same asymptotic running time bound as previously published algorithms, but is more economical in space.

Similarity search for multidimensional data sequences
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of retrieving similar multidimensional data sequences from a large database is investigated, where both data sequences and query sequences are partitioned into subsequences, and each of them is represented by a Minimum Bounding Rectangle (MBR).

Similarity searching for multi-attribute sequences
TL;DR: A new symmetric scale and shift invariant notion of distance for such sequences is formulated and a new index structure is proposed that transforms the data sequences and clusters them according to their shiftings and scalings.

Query by music segments: an efficient approach for song retrieval
TL;DR: Two index structures forMusic segments are proposed, in which the minimal and maximal values of the beat and pitch of the music segments are stored to aid the song retrieval process.
