Inhibition and Enhancement of Two Photon Absorption.

TLDR
Possibility of considerable enhancement of two photon absorption even in the presence of Doppler broadening is demonstrated.
Abstract
The possibility of transparency against two photon absorption is predicted. Detailed absorption profiles under different conditions of the control laser are given. A novel explanation of the absorption minimum is given in terms of the two photon Fermi golden rule and the dressed states. Possibility of considerable enhancement of two photon absorption even in the presence of Doppler broadening is demonstrated.

Colloquium: Coherently controlled adiabatic passage

TL;DR: In this article, the merging of coherent control and adiabatic passage (AP) is discussed and the type of problems that can be solved using the resulting coherently controlled AP method are discussed.

Resonant Nonlinear Optics in Phase-Coherent Media

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review some recent theoretical and experimental studies on resonantly enhanced nonlinear interactions in phase-coherent media (phaseonium) and suggest an efficient optical parametric oscillator based on population trapped atoms.

Efficient hyper-Raman scattering in resonant coherent media.

TL;DR: A hyper-Raman scheme for generation of coherent light in a five-level atomic system based on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is proposed and it is shown that EIT suppresses linear and nonlinear photon absorption and enables the hyper- Raman process to proceed through real, near-resonant intermediate states.

Controlling the optical bistability and transmission coefficient in a four-level atomic medium

TL;DR: In this article, a four level atomic configuration is proposed for controlling the optical bistability and transmission coefficient with application on all-optical switching, where two circularly polarized components from a weak linearly-polarized probe beam are interacted separately by two transitions of this medium.

Electromagnetically induced transparency and its dispersion properties in a four-level inverted-Y atomic system

TL;DR: In this paper, a four-level atomic system in inverted-Y configuration is considered and the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in this system under various parametric conditions in order to demonstrate controllability of the EIT and its dispersion properties.
