TLDR
The effect of different doses of pyrethrum on the blood glucose level and glucose tolerance in pytethrum-administered gerbils, were investigated and possible reasons for these effects are discussed.
Abstract
The effect of different doses of pyrethrum on the blood glucose level and glucose tolerance in pytethrum-administered gerbils, were investigated. Pyrethrum produces hyperglycemia and lowers the glucose tolerance indicating an impairment in the uptake and utilization of glucose. The possible reasons for these effects are discussed.

Effects of pesticidal stress amongst pesticide factory workers in Agra, India

TL;DR: Blood samples from 42 pesticide factory workers in Agra, India were analysed for biochemical indices of clinical importance and elevated levels of serum cholesterol, phospholipid and serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase were observed.

Use of Pyrethrin/ Pyrethrum and its Effect on Environment and Human: A Review

TL;DR: Pyrethrins and pyrethrum are the most frequently used home and garden insecticides in the India and they are often used in indoor sprays, pet shampoos, and aerosol bombs to kill flying and jumping insects.

On effect of chlordane on the blood glucose and of glucose administration on the acute chlordane toxicity in Meriones hurrianae Jerdon, the indian desert gerbil.

TL;DR: Chlordane produces hyperglycemia and lowers the glucose tolerance indicating an impairment in the uptake and utilization of glucose in intoxicated gerbils.

A photometric adaptation of the somogyi method for the determination of glucose

TL;DR: In this paper, the reliability of the various Somogyi-Shaffer-Hartmann (SHH) copper reagents for glucose determination in biological material has been established, which can be accomplished by omission of the iodide and iodate in their preparation, since these interfere with the molybdate color reagents.

Glucocorticosteroids and Transaminase Activity I. INCREASED ACTIVITY OF GLUTAMIC-PYRUVIC TRANSAMINASE IN FOUR CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH GLUCONEOGENESIS

TL;DR: It was found that in addition to the marked rise in the activity of this enzyme noted after hydrocortisone treatment, 5to 7-fold increases in liver glutamic-pyruvic transaminase activity occurred in fasted and diabetic animals and in rats fed high protein rations, a finding substantiating the interpretation that the activity is rate-limiting in the conversion of protein to carbohydrate.

Regulation of enzymes involved in gluconeogenesis.

TL;DR: It was shown that insulin was able to inhibit the corticosteroidinduced increases in gluconeogenic enzyme activities, and a tentative working hypothesis is suggested that insulin may act as the physiological repressor of a sequence of gluc oneogenic enzymes in the liver.

Corticosteroids and Enzyme Activity

TL;DR: This chapter describes those enzymes that are altered following adrenalectomy or the administration of corticosteroids, which are of equal, if not greater, significance in understanding the primary effects of these agents.

Acute dieldrin toxicity: biochemical changes in the blood.

TL;DR: The effect of a single sublethal dose of dieldrin on values for plasma corticosterone (free), nonesterified fatty acids, blood glucose, glucose tolerance, blood pyruvic acid, blood lactic Acid, and liver lactic acid has been investigated.
