TLDR
The directional properties of the uplink and downlink channel are compared experimentally and it is found that the first- and second-order moments of the power azimuth spectrum can be assumed to be identical for the UL and DL bands.

Exploiting the short—term and long—term channel properties in space and time: Eigenbeamforming concepts for the BS in WCDMA

TL;DR: A new ST rake structure for uplink reception in WCDMA which operates in reduced dimension is presented and the downlink eigenbeamformer improves closed—loop downlink diversity compared to other proposals in standardization (3GPP) which only exploit short—term channel properties.

On the directional reciprocity of uplink and downlink channels in Frequency Division Duplex systems

TL;DR: Under favorable propagation conditions, for both actual channel measurement data and ray-tracing simulations, the directional and power properties of the downlink multipath clusters can be estimated from the uplink channel with high reliability and directional-based beamforming transmission techniques will be able to benefit from such similarity in order to improve the system performance.

Deep UL2DL: Data-Driven Channel Knowledge Transfer From Uplink to Downlink

TL;DR: To remove the need for signaling overhead of feedback channels for transmitter channel state information (CSI) in Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD), this work proposes using convolutional neural networks and generative adversarial networks to infer the downlink CSI by observing the uplink CSI.

On MIMO Systems and Adaptive Arrays for Wireless Communication : Analysis and Practical Aspects

TL;DR: This thesis is concerned with the use of multiple antenna elements in wireless communication over frequency non-selective radio channels and both measurement results and theoretical analysis are prepared.

Recents Advances in Propagation Characterisation and Multiple Antenna Processing in the 3GPP Framework

TL;DR: This document gives an overview of recent achievements of various research teams, both academic and industrial, in the characterisation and the exploitation of the essential properties of multiple antenna systems.
