Starting with the great authors of the past, autobiographical requests have been a distinctive feature of Scandinavian literatures. Today, after the modernist experiments of ego building, there is the affirmation of narrative and poetic works which question the boundary between autobiographical truth and fiction, further stimulating the lively, innovative and articulated debate on autobiography in Northern Europe, which has been in development since the 1980s. The 24 authors of the volume (Italian and Scandinavian scholars who are active in Italy or abroad, Scandinavian researchers and writers interested in Italy) illustrate the plurality and uses of autobiographical texts from the 16th century to current days, illuminate areas of a vast territory, investigate little studied texts or go back to questioning the classics.Le istanze autobiografiche sono un tratto caratteristico delle letterature scandinave a partire dai grandi autori del passato. Oggi, dopo le sperimentazioni moderniste della costruzione dell’io, si affermano opere narrative e poetiche che mettono in discussione il confine tra verita autobiografica e finzione, stimolando ulteriormente il dibattito sull’autobiografia che nel Nord Europa si sviluppa dagli anni Ottanta del Novecento ed e vivace, innovativo e articolato. I 24 autori del volume – studiosi italiani e scandinavi attivi in Italia o all’estero, ricercatori e scrittori scandinavi interessati all’Italia – illustrano la pluralita e gli usi delle scritture autobiografiche dal Cinquecento a oggi, illuminano zone di un territorio vasto, indagano testi poco studiati o tornano a interrogare i classici.

Relational Narratives: Constructing Meaning in Contemporary Literatures in French

Over the past ten years, Certeau’s work has often been regarded as a ‘‘founding charter’’ (to use Tom Conley’s term) for cultural studies. Because of its concern with ordinary people and everyday life, as well as with issues of otherness, difference, and exclusion, that work now appears related to the kind of research that developed in England during the s and s, then spread to the United States, where it met with considerable success in the academy. Some of the essays collected in L’invention du quotidien have been anthologized in cultural studies readers, and Certeau is frequently cited in those. However, his work’s current status in cultural studies should not overshadow the novelty and significance of his contributions to other fields, particularly to what I have elsewhere proposed calling the ‘‘poetics of historiography’’: the rules, codes, and conventions that frame historical writing. Indeed, when Certeau’s first essays on historiography appeared in the early s, very few French scholars were concerned with the operations of academic writing. Ce pouvoir agissant ou performatif necessite une approche de la representation comme experience d'interaction et enonciation. Une methode d'analyse appliquee de l'experience immersive et d'identification a ainsi ete elaboree sous la forme d'une typologie phanerologique de l'agencement representationnel conjuguant approches sociale, cognitive et semiotique.
