Tetrakis(tri‐tert‐butylsilyl)‐tetrahedro‐tetrasilane (tBu3Si)4Si4: The First Molecular Silicon Compound with a Si4 Tetrahedron
Journal ArticleDOI
Fundamentals of Silicon Chemistry: Molecular States of Silicon‐Containing Compounds
TL;DR: In this paper, a set of clear and practical rules for interpreting measurements and planning experiments is presented for interpreting spectroscopic fingerprints of organosilicon compounds, which can be used to predict the connectivity between and the spatial arrangement of silicon building blocks, the energy-dependent electron distribution over the effective nuclear potentials of a molecular framework, and the partly considerable effects of "silicon substituents" on molecular properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Verbindungen mit SiSi-, GeGe- und SnSn-Doppelbindungen sowie gespannte Ringsysteme mit Si-, Ge- und Sn-Gerüsten
TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on a set of Verbindungsklassen, e.g., cyclotrisilan, trigerman and tristannan, Molekule with element-element-Doppelbindungen einschlieslich Disilen, digermen, and distannen.
Book ChapterDOI
The coordination chemistry of low valent silicon
TL;DR: The organometallic chemistry of silicon is experiencing a remarkable period of renaissance as discussed by the authors, which refers not only to silicon clusters, polymers or amorphous silicon but also to highly reactive intermediates such as silylenes (silanediyls) or disilenes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Grundlagen der Silicium-Chemie: Molekülzustände Silicium enthaltender Verbindungen
TL;DR: In this paper, weisende erweiterungen und anwendungen betreffen Polysilan-bandstrukturen, Rydberg-Zustande von Chromophoren with Silicium-Zentren, Redoxreaktionen and Ionenpaar-Bildung siliciumsubstituierter π-Systeme sowie molekuldynamische Phanomene in Losung or bei thermischer Fragmentierung in der Gasphase.

Hexasilabenzene (Si6H6). Is the benzene-like D6h structure stable?
TL;DR: In this article, a chair-like puckered structure of D3d symmetry is proposed for hexasilabenzene, which is explained in terms of some multiradical character of the skeletal bonding (i.e., the antiferromagnetic like localization of electrons onto each Si).
Journal ArticleDOI
Si6H6: Is the Aromatic Structure the Most Stable One?
Journal ArticleDOI
The gas phase structures of the isomers of benzene. III. Hexamethylprismane and hexamethylbenzene
TL;DR: The molecular structures of hexamethyl-benzene (HMP) were investigated in the gas phase by electron diffraction as discussed by the authors, and the following structural features of the isomers were determined by least squares fitting of the computed to the experimental molecular scattering functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
MC‐SCF and CI calculations on four isomers of Si6H6
TL;DR: In this article, the four isomers of Si6 H6, hexasilabenzene (1), Hexasilaprismane (2), hexasila-Dewar benzene (3), and tris-(disilanediyl) (4), have been investigated, using highly correlated wavefunctions in conjunction with a local pseudopotential approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Syntheses with cyclobutadienes -15. Prismane / dewar benzene isomerization- x-ray crystal structure of tert-butyl 3,4,5-tri-tert-butyl-2,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)prismane-1-carboxylate
TL;DR: The heavily substituted Dewar benzene derivatives 3 and 5 merely yield the carboxylic acids 7 and 9 by loss of isobutene when heated to 150-200 °C; isomerization to the benzoic acid 8 is not at all observed.
