TLDR
The menaquinone composition of some species of the genus Micrococcus was analysed by high performance liquid chromatography and both unsaturated and hydrogenated menaquinones were detected.
Abstract
The menaquinone composition of some species of the genus Micrococcus was analysed by high performance liquid chromatography. Both unsaturated and hydrogenated menaquinones were detected. Micrococcus kristinae, M. lylae and M. nishinomiyaensis contained hydrogenated menaquinones while M. sedentarius contained unsaturated menaquinone. The predominant menaquinone isoprenologues of these species are MK-7 (H 2 ), MK-8 (H 2 ), MK-8 (H 2 ) and MK-8, respectively. These observations confirm further the heterogeneity of the genus

Lipids of Arthrobacter siderocapsulatus

TL;DR: The results of lipid studies confirm that Arthrobacter siderocapsulatus is not a member of the genus Arth Robacter, and further studies are required to determine the taxonomic status of these Gram-negative bacteria.

Distribution of Menaquinones in Actinomycetes and Corynebacteria

TL;DR: Menaquinones were the only isoprenoid quinones found in 48 corynebacteria and actinomycete strains examined, and Actinomadura dassonvillei strains had a characteristic pattern of di-, tetra- and hexahydromenaquinONES with 10 isoprene units which was slightly different from the pattern in mixtures of similar quInones from Actinomyces israelii and Act inomyces viscosus.

Isolation and Characterization of Micrococci From Human Skin, Including Two New Species: Micrococcus lylae and Micrococcus kristinae1

TL;DR: A variety of morphological, physiological, biochemical, and genetic characters were examined for their use as taxonomic criteria, and key characters, many of which can be determined by simple laboratory procedures, were selected for species differentiation.
