Fast Bayesian approach for modal identification using free vibration data, Part i - Most probable value

TL;DR: In this paper, a Bayesian statistical approach is developed for modal identification using the free vibration response of structures, and a frequency domain formulation is proposed that makes statistical inference based on the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) of the data in a selected frequency band.

Modal analysis by free vibration response only for discrete and continuous systems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed an algorithm for modal analysis by free vibration response only (MAFVRO), in particular for the general or non-proportional viscous damping system model.

Vibration Analysis using Time Domain Methods for the Detection of small Roller Bearing Defects

TL;DR: In this paper, the shape of selected time domain peaks is calculated by the higher derivatives of the time acceleration signal and some parameters characterizing the randomness of the peak positions, which enables the selection of a feature subset which is best suited to the present fault situation.

Adaptive operational modal identification for slow linear time-varying structures based on frozen-in coefficient method and limited memory recursive principal component analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a novel operational modal analysis (OMA) method based on the frozen-in coefficient method and limited memory recursive principal component analysis (LMRPCA) for linear weakly damped structures with slow time-varying characteristics under unmeasured stationary random ambient loads.

Principles and techniques of vibrations

TL;DR: The finite element method for the algebraic Eigenvalue problem of distributed-parameter systems was introduced in this article. But it is not suitable for the linear system theory of single-degree-of-freedom (SDF) systems.

Modal Identification from Ambient Responses Using Frequency Domain Decomposition

TL;DR: In this paper, a decomposition of the spectral density function matrix is introduced for modal identification from ambient responses, i.e. in the case where the modal parameters must be estimated without knowing the input of the system.

On the physical interpretation of proper orthogonal modes in vibrations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors relate the proper orthogonal modes, as applied in discrete vibration systems, to normal modes of vibration in systems with a known mass matrix in the case of undamped free vibration.
