TLDR
The second edition of this book is unique in that it focuses on methods for making formal statistical inference from all the models in an a priori set (Multi-Model Inference).Abstract:
Introduction * Information and Likelihood Theory: A Basis for Model Selection and Inference * Basic Use of the Information-Theoretic Approach * Formal Inference From More Than One Model: Multi-Model Inference (MMI) * Monte Carlo Insights and Extended Examples * Statistical Theory and Numerical Results * Summaryread more

Poleward shifts in breeding bird distributions in New York State.
TL;DR: This article used the New York State Breeding Bird Atlas, a statewide survey of 5332 25 km2 blocks surveyed in 1980-1985 and 2000-2005, to test several predictions that the birds of New York state are responding to climate change.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modelling of wildlife fatality hotspots along the Snowy Mountain Highway in New South Wales, Australia
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a modelling approach for both presence and presence/absence data to identify hotspots, using data collected from the Snowy Mountain Highway in southern New South Wales, Australia to compare the effectiveness of this approach for five species/groups of species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting the temperature dependence of microbial respiration in soil: A continental-scale analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, the average Q10 value (the factor by which decomposition rates increase for a 10C increase in temperature) was 3.0, but the range in Q10 values was substantial (2.2 to 4.6).

Marine protected areas increase resilience among coral reef communities.
Camille Mellin,Camille Mellin,M. Aaron MacNeil,Alistair J. Cheal,Michael J. Emslie,M. Julian Caley +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that MPAs can increase the resilience of coral reef communities to natural disturbances, including coral bleaching, coral diseases, Acanthaster planci outbreaks and storms, possibly through herbivory, trophic cascades and portfolio effects.

Days to heading 7, a major quantitative locus determining photoperiod sensitivity and regional adaptation in rice
He Gao,Mingna Jin,Xiaoming Zheng,Jun Chen,Yuan Dingyang,Yeyun Xin,Maoqing Wang,Dongyi Huang,Zhe Zhang,Kunneng Zhou,Peike Sheng,Jin Ma,Weiwei Ma,Huafeng Deng,Ling Jiang,Shijia Liu,Haiyang Wang,Chuanyin Wu,Longping Yuan,Jianmin Wan +19 more
TL;DR: This study identifies a major quantitative trait locus underlying photoperiod sensitivity in rice (DTH7), and demonstrates that various haplotype combinations of DTH7 with Grain number, plant height, and heading date 7 (Ghd7) and DTH8 correlate well with the flowering time and grain yield of rice varieties under diverse cultivating conditions.
