TLDR
The second edition of this book is unique in that it focuses on methods for making formal statistical inference from all the models in an a priori set (Multi-Model Inference).Abstract:
Introduction * Information and Likelihood Theory: A Basis for Model Selection and Inference * Basic Use of the Information-Theoretic Approach * Formal Inference From More Than One Model: Multi-Model Inference (MMI) * Monte Carlo Insights and Extended Examples * Statistical Theory and Numerical Results * Summaryread more

Bushmeat supply and consumption in a tropical logging concession in northern Congo.
TL;DR: The immigration of workers, jobseekers, and their families altered hunting patterns and was associated with increased use of wire snares and increased diversity in the species hunted and consumed, suggesting the greatest threat of logging to biodiversity may be the permanent urbanization of frontier forests.

2013 Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Recommendations for the Diagnosis of Adult Hypertension, Assessment of Cardiovascular and other Hypertension-associated Risk, and Attainment of Therapeutic Goals
Chronotherapeutics,Vascular Risk,Ramon C. Hermida,Michael H. Smolensky,Diana E. Ayala,Francesco Portaluppi +5 more
TL;DR: ABPM should be viewed as the new gold standard to diagnose true hypertension, accurately assess consequent tissue/organ, maternal/fetal, and CVD risk, and individualize hypertension chronotherapy.

Physiological effects on demography: a long-term experimental study of testosterone's effects on fitness.
Wendy L. Reed,Mark E. Clark,Patricia G. Parker,S. A. Raouf,N. Arguedas,D. S. Monk,Eric Snajdr,Val Nolan,Ellen D. Ketterson +8 more
TL;DR: The higher fitness of testosterone‐treated males in the absence of a comparable natural phenotype suggests that the natural phenotype may be constrained and the negative social effects on offspring and mates suggest that these effects might prevent high‐testosterone phenotypes from spreading in the population.

An assessment of preferential attachment as a mechanism for human sexual network formation.
TL;DR: Public health interventions aimed at reducing the transmissibility of STD pathogens, such as implementing condom use or high–activity anti–retroviral therapy, have the potential to bring a population below the epidemic transition, even in populations exhibiting large degrees of behavioural heterogeneity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Species' traits predict phenological responses to climate change in butterflies
TL;DR: It is shown that species with narrower larval diet breadth and more advanced overwintering stages have experienced relatively greater advances in their date of first appearance, and species with smaller range sizes have experienced greater phenological advancement.
