TLDR
The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) as mentioned in this paper is a continuous, ongoing annual survey of the non-institutionalized civilian resident population of the United States.Abstract:
Background-Starting in 1999, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) became a continuous, ongoing annual survey of the noninstitutionalized civilian resident population of the United States. A continuous survey allowed content to change to meet emerging needs. Objective-This report describes how NHANES for 1999-2010 was designed and implemented. NHANES is a national survey designed to provide national estimates on various health-related topics. Methods-The survey used in-person face-to-face interviews and physical examinations for data collection. Approximately 5,000 people per year participated in NHANES. The 5,000 people surveyed each year are representative of the entire U.S. population.read more

History of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Relation to Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in US Women.
TL;DR: Women with a previous history ofGDM have significantly higher risk for developing CVD and lower serum level of HDL cholesterol, compared to women without a history of GDM, and the associations may be explained, at least partly, by BMI.

TL;DR: Demographic patterns and body size relationships differed between trabecular bone score and lumbar spine bone mineral density for adults age ≥20 years from the NHANES 2005–2008 with BMI in the optimal range for TBS.

TL;DR: A unified approach makes single risk factors and clustered cardiometabolic disease risk scores comparable to the reference material itself and comparable to cardiometric risk values in studies using the same strategy, and increases the prospect to estimate and compare prevalence and trends of carduometabolic risk in children when using continuous cardiometryabolic risk scores.
