TLDR
In this paper, a nonlinear equation containing up to third-order terms in the field on the basis of the kinetic theory was derived, which describes the interaction of high-frequency surface potential waves in a semi-infinite collisionless plasma.
Abstract
This paper derives a nonlinear equation containing up to third-order terms in the field on the basis of the kinetic theory, which describes the interaction of high-frequency surface potential waves in a semiinfinite collisionless plasma. The modulation instability of the regular pump field of the surface waves is investigated. The characteristics of nonlinear interaction related to the specifics of the surface waves are analyzed.

Recent advances in the theory of nonlinear surface waves

TL;DR: In this article, an improved version of the cold-plasma sharp-boundary model is proposed, which allows the existence of induced nonlinear surface charges and currents in an infinitely thin (spatially singular) layer at the plasma boundary.

Transition Radiation and Transition Scattering

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss transition radiation and transition scattering in the context of transition bremsstrahlung radiation and the corresponding range of phenomena, as far as possible, in a generally physical aspect.

Boundary effects on the nonlinear interactions of surface waves

TL;DR: In this paper, a cold-plasma boundary model is revised to allow proper description of nonlinear effects in surface wave propagation, and it is shown that induced nonlinear surface currents can exist at the boundary.

Low-frequency surface acoustic waves in a collisional plasma

TL;DR: Ion-acoustic surface waves in a highly collisional plasma are considered in this article, and it is shown that the dispersion and damping of these waves differ considerably from those for a weakly collisional one.

Electrodynamics of continuous media

TL;DR: In this article, the propagation of electromagnetic waves and X-ray diffraction of X rays in crystals are discussed. But they do not consider the effects of superconductivity on superconducting conductors.

Strong langmuir turbulence

TL;DR: A review of recent approaches to the theory of strong Langmuir turbulence can be found in this paper, where a large amount of space is devoted to modulational instability processes, both for the case where the plasma is pumped by a monochromatic wave, and the case when there is a broad-band incoherent pump.

Surface waves in a homogeneous plasma sharply bounded by a dielectric

TL;DR: In this paper, the physics, spectra and damping rates of high and low-frequency surface waves in semi-infinite and cylindrical plasmas are studied.
