Novel acidic solids from high charge Na-micas by mild hydrothermal treatment

TLDR
In this article, a meso-porous structure with a significant increment in the acidity and surface area has been developed from a novel family of swelling brittle micas, Na-n -Mica (n ǫ = 2, 3 and 4), where n is the layer charge per unit cell.

Synthesis of porous clay heterostructures from high charge mica-type aluminosilicates

TL;DR: In this paper, a mesoporous material was synthesized from those swelling brittle micas through a surfactant templating approach, where the interlayer space was firstly preexpanded using alkylammonium cations, giving rise to a homogeneous organic-inorganic hybrid structure, which directs the polymerization step of the silica source.

Development of Nanosized Mica Particles from Natural Mica by Sonication/Organic Intercalation Method for Pearlescent Pigment

Ufuk Malayoglu, +1 more
- 25 Jun 2020 -
TL;DR: In this article, the possibility of reducing natural mica particles to nanosizes without damaging its surface properties and smooth flake shape for pearlescent pigment application was investigated by using the sonication delamination method.
