Impact of hardening law on the FEM prediction of residual stresses in Cu-Al wires

TL;DR: In this article , a comparison between two different strain hardening laws was made for axial residual stress profiles in numerically cold-drawn Cu-Al composite wires of various Al volume fractions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Realization of a Test Tool for Diagnosis of Contact Resistance and Measurement of Selected Types of Conductive Materials

TL;DR: In this paper , an initial diagnosis of the contact material is performed based on the determination of the sample's specific resistivity by the four-wire method and the evaluation of the measurement uncertainty.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of hardening law on the FEM prediction of residual stresses in copper-clad aluminum wires

TL;DR: In this paper , a comparison between two different hardening laws was made for axial residual stress profiles in numerically cold-drawn Cu-Al composite wires of various Al volume fractions, and the impact of die geometry on this prediction was also examined for a 25%Al-wire.

Microstructure and strength of CuFe in Situ composites after very high drawing strains

C. Biselli, +1 more
- 01 Feb 1996 -
TL;DR: In this article, the dependence of strenth on the extent of prior cold work has been analysed in relation to the evolution of microstructure, which induces a strong Bauschinger effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new constitutive relationship for the homogeneous deformation of metals over a wide range of strain

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the stress-strain relationship of high purity aluminum and copper over a wide range of strain by combining data obtained in the conventional tensile and compression testing of annealed samples with data obtained after processing by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) to high imposed strains.
Journal ArticleDOI

An analysis of the steady-state wire drawing of strain-hardening materials

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive investigation of the steady-state wire drawing process has been done to study the effects of various process variables on important drawing parameters and deformation, the process variables considered being the reduction ratio, the die semi-angle, the coefficient of friction and the back tension, whilst the drawing parameters studied are the die pressure, the drawing stress and the separation force.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of residual stresses in the tensile test of cold drawn wires

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of residual stresses due to cold-drawing on the shape of the tensile stress-strain curve and particularly its influence on the ratio σ0.2/σmax through a numerical and experimental work was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of innovative rotary swaged Cu-Al clad composite wire conductors

TL;DR: In this paper, a rotary swaging-based analysis of 5-mm Cu/Al composite wires with unique sequencing was performed at the processing temperature of 20°C and 250°C, and the results showed that both the total imposed strain and swaging temperature influenced the investigated parameters nonnegligibly.
