Observation and modeling analyses of the macro- and microphysical characteristics of a heavy rain storm in Beijing
TLDR
In this paper, the authors investigated the role of upper and lower-level weather systems in heavy rain in Beijing and its surrounding areas from 21 to 22 July 2012, and showed that the precipitation in Beijing can be divided into two phases: a warm-sector precipitation phase, ahead of the cold front, and a cold front precipitation phase.About:

Flash Flood Forecasting: An Ingredients-Based Methodology
TL;DR: In this article, an approach to forecasting the potential for flash flood-producing storms is developed, using the notion of basic ingredients, such as the duration of an event, the speed of movement and the size of the system causing the event along the direction of system movement.

Development and Evaluation of a Convection Scheme for Use in Climate Models
TL;DR: In this article, a representation of cumulus convection with close attention paid to convective water fluxes and subjecting the scheme to rigorous tests using sounding array data is presented, in which a single-column model is forced by large-scale processes measured by or inferred from the sounding data.
