On character amenability of Banach algebras

TLDR
Kaniuth et al. as discussed by the authors studied the amenability of Banach algebras with respect to a character φ of a character and provided necessary and sufficient conditions of a global and a pointwise nature for a Banach algebra to possess a φ -mean of norm 1.

Character amenability and contractibility of abstract segal algebras

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider abstract Segal algebras with respect to locally compact groups, and study ϕ-amenability, and ϕ -contractibility of ǫ and ℬ.

Arens regularity and amenability of lau product of banach algebras defined by a banach algebra morphism

TL;DR: In this paper, a multiplication on the Cartesian product space of a Banach algebra is defined to perturb the coordinate wise product, resulting in a new commutative algebra.

Amenability of banach algebras

TL;DR: In this paper, the same authors give some equivalent conditions under which a homo-morphism from A onto C can guarantee a "-mean of norm one" in the weak cluster of A; kak = ''a) = 1g in A.

Invariant means and fixed point properties of semigroup of nonexpansive mappings

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors outline some of their recent joint works with Takahashi on fixed point properties or ergodic properties for semigroup of nonexpansive mappings on closed convex subsets of a Banach space and their relationship with existence of left invariant mean on certain subspaces of bounded realvalued functions on the semigroup.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generalized notions of character amenability

TL;DR: In this paper, the relations among the generalized concepts of character amenability for Banach algebras have been investigated, and the general theory for these concepts is also developed, including approximate character contractibility.

Banach algebras and automatic continuity

H. G. Dales
TL;DR: Banach algebras combine algebraic and analytical aspects: it is the interplay of these structures that gives the subject its fascination as discussed by the authors, and shows how their topology is often determined by their algebraic structure.
