Optimization of high-strength self-consolidating concrete mix design using an improved Taguchi optimization method

TLDR
The proposed Taguchi optimization method was efficient in obtaining the optimal mixture design of the manufacturing process according to decision makers’ preferences and indicated a significant improvement in the total quality of concrete compared to the decision maker’s estimated mixture design.

Post-fire compressive strength of recycled PET aggregate concrete reinforced with steel fibers: Optimization and prediction via RSM and GEP

TL;DR: In this paper, the compressive performance of fiber-reinforced concrete containing recycled PET chips being exposed to high temperatures, was investigated in this experimental effort. And the results demonstrated that the presence of PET chips replacing a percentage of sand by volume and steel fibers in the concrete mix lowered compressive strength of the specimens with and without the thermal loading.

A multi-stage multi-criteria hierarchical decision-making approach for sustainable supplier selection

TL;DR: This study proposes a new multi-stage hierarchical fuzzy index-based approach with which decision-makers are empowered to select the most sustainable supplier based on sustainability triple bottom line criteria by collecting the most relevant criteria and a straightforward fuzzy process.

Best-worst multi-criteria decision-making method

TL;DR: In this article, a new method, called best-worst method (BWM) is proposed to solve multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems, in which a number of alternatives are evaluated with respect to different criteria in order to select the best alternative(s).

Best-worst multi-criteria decision-making method: Some properties and a linear model

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a non-linear minmax model to identify the weights such that the maximum absolute difference between the weight ratios and their corresponding comparisons is minimized, which may result in multiple optimal solutions.

Fuzzy best-worst multi-criteria decision-making method and its applications

TL;DR: The results indicate the proposed fuzzy BWM can not only obtain reasonable preference ranking for alternatives but also has higher comparison consistency than the BWM.

A supplier selection life cycle approach integrating traditional and environmental criteria using the best worst method

TL;DR: In this article, an innovative three-phase supplier selection methodology including pre-selection, selection, and aggregation is proposed, in which concurrent screening is used for preselection, the best worst method (BWM) is introduced for selection phase, and material price and annual quantity are integrated with the decision at the aggregation phase.

Assessing the social sustainability of supply chains using Best Worst Method

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a framework for investigating the social sustainability of supply chains in manufacturing companies, and a sample of 38 experts was used to evaluate and prioritize social sustainability criteria, using a multi-criteria decision-making method called the best worst method.
