TLDR
In this article, experimental and numerical results are presented for oscillatory flows and the increasing complexity of the developing eddy motion is followed to the point where the axial symmetry of the flow is broken.
Abstract
Periodic baffles are either posioned at the wall or centre of the tube. In both cases numerical simulations are presented for steady axial flow within the tube up to a net flow Reynolds number of 200. In addition, experimental and numerical results are presented for oscillatory flows and the increasing complexity of the developing eddy motion is followed to the point where the axial symmetry of the flow is broken.

Methods Employed for Control of Fouling in MF and UF Membranes: A Comprehensive Review

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive overview of the wide range of techniques used in the control of fouling in both MF and UF membranes is presented, as well as the amount of research that has gone into the various techniques used and the results achieved after experimental work.

Oscillatory flow reactors (OFRs) for continuous manufacturing and crystallization

TL;DR: Oscillatory flow reactors (OFRs) offer a suitable platform to deliver consistent operating conditions under plug-flow operation while maintaining a controlled steady state as discussed by the authors, which is an attractive approach for the delivery of consistent particles with specified critical quality attributes (CQAs).

Optimization of methyl ester production from waste cooking oil in a batch tri-orifice oscillatory baffled reactor

TL;DR: In this article, an optimization of biodiesel, or fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) production from waste cooking oil (WCO) was investigated using a batch OBR with multi-orifice baffles, which have been recommended for scale-up.

Novel oscillatory flow reactors for biotechnological applications

TL;DR: This thesis explores the biotechnological applications of two novel scale-down oscillatory flow reactors (OFRs) developed based on a 4.4 mm internal diameter tube with smooth periodic constrictions (SPC), both operating under oscillatoryflow mixing (OFM).

Characterisation of impeller driven and oscillatory mixing by spatial and temporal shear rate distributions

TL;DR: In this paper, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique was used to model spatial and temporal behaviour of flow patterns in an impeller-driven stirred vessel (IDSV) and in an oscillatory flow baffled vessel (OFBV).
