Feasibility studies of the exhaust-gas reforming of hydrocarbon and alcohol fuels

TL;DR: The feasibility of a proposed exhaust-gas reforming process, as applied to hydrocarbon and alcohol spark-ignition engine fuels, has been studied in this article, where the results of the simulations have enabled comparisons of predicted engine thermal efficiency and pollutant emission levels for reformed and conventional fuelling strategies.

A Viscosity Equation for Gas Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the previous equation of Buddenberg and the author has been modified to give a general equation for viscosity as a function of molecular weights and viscosities of the pure components of the mixture.

Effect of compression ratio on exhaust emissions and performance of a methanol-fueled single-cylinder engine

TL;DR: In this paper, a methanol-fueled single-cylinder engine was run at compression ratio (CR) from 8 to 18, and engine speed and airflow were constant at 1200 rpm and about half throttle, respectively; equivalence ratio (phi) was varied from 0.7 to 1.1; and spark timing from best power (MBT) to 10/sup 0/ retarded.
