Abstract
Photogrammetry is a flexible 3D-measuring technique based on images of the object. Its relative precision, ranging from 1:30 000 to 1:300 000, is due to the high quality of the hardware and the simultaneous treatment of all geometric information in a joint least squares estimation. The interactive measuring process allows a stepwise integration of algorithms from pattern recognition to support or replace manual tasks. A new image matching procedure has been developed and implemented on an analytical measuring device for high precision surface measurements. The paper discusses the methodology of analytical photogrammetry, the theoretical accuracy of stereopsy and the features of the image matching system.

Good features to track

TL;DR: A feature selection criterion that is optimal by construction because it is based on how the tracker works, and a feature monitoring method that can detect occlusions, disocclusions, and features that do not correspond to points in the world are proposed.

A stereo matching algorithm with an adaptive window: theory and experiment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an adaptive window selection method to select an appropriate window by evaluating the local variation of the intensity and the disparity within the window, which is based on a statistical model of the disparity distribution within a window.

A cooperative algorithm for stereo matching and occlusion detection

TL;DR: Presents a stereo algorithm for obtaining disparity maps with occlusion explicitly detected, and presents the processing results from synthetic and real image pairs, including ones with ground-truth values for quantitative comparison with other methods.

Real time correlation-based stereo: algorithm, implementations and applications

TL;DR: The algorithm that has been described is not the most sophisticated available but it has made it robust and reliable thanks to a number of improvements and has shown that real time stereo is possible today at low-cost and can be applied in real applications.

Finding People in Images and Videos

Navneet Dalal
TL;DR: This thesis introduces grids of locally normalised Histograms of Oriented Gradients (HOG) as descriptors for object detection in static images and proposes descriptors based on oriented histograms of differential optical flow to detect moving humans in videos.

Nested Dissection of a Regular Finite Element Mesh

TL;DR: This paper presents an unusual numbering of the mesh (unknowns) and shows that if the authors avoid operating on zeros, the $LDL^T $ factorization of A can be computed using the same standard algorithm in $O(n^3 )$ arithmetic operations.

Disparity Analysis of Images

TL;DR: An algorithm for matching images of real world scenes is presented, which quickly converges to good estimates of disparity, which reflect the spatial organization of the scene.

Velocity determination in scenes containing several moving objects

TL;DR: A relationship between the time variation of intensity, the spatial gradient, and velocity has been developed which allows the determination of motion using clustering techniques, and the clustering technique is described.

Image sequence analysis

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on three-Dimensional Motion Estimation, which involves estimating the Translation for Video Images of Moving Objects and Modeling Temporal Variations of Image Functions Caused by Moving Objects.
