Activatable photosensitizers for imaging and therapy

TL;DR: This work focuses on the design and implementation of Activatable Photosensitizer Design Considerations, a very simple and straightforward process that simplifies and automates the very labor-intensive and therefore time-heavy and expensive process of Activation Mechanism Selection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intermolecular and supramolecular photoinduced electron transfer processes of fullerene–porphyrin/phthalocyanine systems

TL;DR: In this article, the dependence of photoinduced electron transfer reaction rates on the molecular structures of the donor and acceptor entities results in improving the capture and storage of solar energy, and the relation between structures and photochemical reactivities of these novel supramolecular systems are discussed in relation to the efficiency of charge separation and charge recombination.

Fabrication of ZnPc/protein nanohorns for double photodynamic and hyperthermic cancer phototherapy.

TL;DR: It is concluded that carbon nanotubules may be a valuable new tool for use in cancer phototherapy.

Fabrication of ZnPc/Protein Nanohorns for Double Photodynamic and Hyperthermic Cancer Phototherapy

TL;DR: In this article, a double photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photohyperthermia (PHT) cancer phototherapy system using a single laser was proposed, where ZnPc-SWNHox-BSA was injected into tumors that were subcutaneously transplanted into mice, and the tumors almost disappeared upon 670-nm laser irradiation.

Highly Biocompatible Carbon Nanodots for Simultaneous Bioimaging and Targeted Photodynamic Therapy In Vitro and In Vivo

TL;DR: A novel design is described of highly biocompatible, fluorescent, folic acid‐functionalized carbon nanodots (CDs) as carriers for the PS zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) to achieve simultaneous biological imaging and targeted photodynamic therapy.

Analysis of fluorescence decay kinetics from variable-frequency phase-shift and modulation data

TL;DR: Analysis of fluorescence phase-shift and modulation data by the method of nonlinear least squares to determine the values of the lifetimes and fractional intensities for a mixture of exponentially decaying fluorophores broadly confirms the predicted resolving potential of variable-frequency phase-modulation fluorometry.

Hydroporphyrins of the meso-tetra(hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin series as tumour photosensitizers

TL;DR: Four new hydroporphyrins related to the tetra(hydroxyphenyl)porphyrins show the expected strong absorption bands in the red region of the visible spectrum and are found to be very effective tumour photosensitizers.
