TLDR
In this article, the determination of total polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in the ambient air of Delhi was done for a period of six months at five sampling stations.Abstract:
This investigation is concerned with the determination of total polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in the ambient air of Delhi. Air sampling was done for a period of six months at five sampling stations. PAH was determined by the quinine sulphate method. A city average profile was obtained; seasonal variation of PAH concentration, as well as its correlation with total suspended particulates (TSP) and wind‐velocity, were ascertained.read more

TL;DR: The pH of the rain water was found to be more than 5.6, showing alkalinity during the early phase ofmonsoon, but during the late phase of monsoon pHtendency was towards acidity due to lack of proper neutralization of acidic ions.

Speciation of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) present during fog time collected submicron particles.
TL;DR: In winter and foggy days, wood and coal combustion and biomass burning also significantly contribute to the PAH levels, however, diagnostic ratio suggests diesel emissions as the prime source of PAHs at this sampling site.

Characterisation of Indoor PM10 in Residential Areas of Delhi
TL;DR: The relationship between indoor and outdoor concentrations of fine and coarse fractions of PM10 with respect to their chemical composition was investigated simultaneously at two different localities in Delhi as mentioned in this paper, where the average contribution of the fine fraction indoors for Sites I and II respectively was 51 and 53% of the total PM10 and outdoors was 43 and 41%.

Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons in the water environment
TL;DR: Because of the ubiquity of PAH in the environment, it is impossible to prevent completely man's exposure to them; nevertheless their surveillance should be continued and their concentrations in the Environment should be reduced where practicable.
