Precipitation of Ni4Ti3-variants in a polycrystalline Ni-rich NiTi shape memory alloy

TLDR
In this article, the authors provide a fully quantitative TEM analysis, which shows that different Ni 4 Ti 3 precipitate variants form close to and far from grain boundaries during stress-assisted aging.

Effect of ageing treatment on the transformation behaviour of Ti–50.9 at.% Ni alloy

TL;DR: This article investigated the effect of ageing on the transformation behavior of a Ti-509% at% Ni alloy and found that aging at below 573 k was found to suppress the original A-↔-M transformation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laser welding of NiTi shape memory alloy: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of laser welding process on the functional properties of NiTi and related alloys are investigated, and the impact of the post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is studied as an effective solution to improve the downsides of the Laser welding process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Orientation dependence of stress-induced phase transformation and dislocation plasticity in NiTi shape memory alloys on the micro scale

TL;DR: In this article, a binary, solution annealed precipitate free NiTi alloy was used to compress small pillars in three directions: 1, 2, 3 and 4 directions.

Suppression of Ni4Ti3 Precipitation by Grain Size Refinement in Ni‐Rich NiTi Shape Memory Alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of grain size on subsequent Ni-rich particle precipitation during annealing was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAD, SAED), and X-ray diffraction.

Ni4Ti3-precipitation during aging of NiTi shape memory alloys and its influence on martensitic phase transformations

TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructure of a Ni-rich NiTi shape memory alloy and its influence on the thermal characteristics of martensitic transformations were studied. But the authors did not consider the effect of stress on the precipitation process of Ni4Ti3-precipitates.
